My MISSION TRIP TESTIMONY (Recife, Brazil)

It was an honor to be able to meet the kind people of Recife. Our hearts will never be the same because of the impact our readers at Escola da Bíblia and Boa Vista Church of Christ had on us. We held reading sessions where English was taught through Bible stories . Conversations were birthed from the passages read that allowed us to connect with each other on a deeper level Our team loved having reading sessions because we saw how the scriptures came to life in the hearts of our students. The overflow of conversations allowed for testimonies to be shared and a common ground for the love of Jesus to be made. Even those who weren’t Christian enjoyed the conversations of Jesus and we believe that seeds of faith were planted. Our classes were filled with laughter, joy, eager learning and deep connections .

Thank you so much for supporting my mission trip to Recife, Brazil. Christ was truly glorified. Your prayers helped so many people and allowed me to go on a trip of a lifetime. Here are some of the people you helped. We held reading sessions where English was taught through Bible stories. Conversations were birthed from the passages read that allowed us to connect with each other on a deeper level.  Filype is 20 and his mother died in a car accident when he was 2. She was protecting him. He now lives with his grandparents and during our time together he would go take care of his grandmother just in time for English Bible class to begin. He is such a determined young man who inspired me greatly. We also visited Lar (Home) Maná (Bread from Heaven), an orphanage for abused children. We got to love on these precious ones. You also helped Vitoria, a sweet girl who traveled 2 hours just to come to our sessions. She wants to give her family a better life, she loves Jesus and works really hard and makes great sacrifices. She has the drive to be successful.  I also met  Rebeka, a beautiful young woman who just lost her job, but even amidst that adversity, she practiced her English which puts her in line for better job. She was so sweet.

I love the city of Brazil and I hope to go back soon. God bless you!
