How will we?

How will we...
know the pain
if we've never been broken.

How could we wipe away other's tears
if we've never had to wipe our own

how could we know how to walk with a limp
if we never had to endure hardship in walking before?

how could we have the compassion for the sick
if we never cared for the sick before


how could we listen to the heartbreak of a friend
if we have never experienced heartbreak

how could we know the hope of a new life
if we never had to experience death

how could we eat if there was no rain to water the crops?

how could we know that God is all we need
if we never had lack, and had to depend on Him for everything.

How could we know that He was always here, close beside us
if we never had to be alone in the dark with Him

How could we know His Goodness
If we never felt any pain..

"No longer will violence be heard in your land,
nor ruin or destruction within your borders,
but you will call your walls Salvation
and your gates Praise."
