A Friend [Creative Story]

Jesus had been that friend.
she never really had a real friend before--
acquaintances--sure,
but someone who truly knew her,
the deepest most intimate parts of her--
no- no one, except for Jesus.

she had been so broken hearted after the lost of her brother
she felt so alone,
the family had become so unstable after his death
that she had to move from school to school,
so she didn't see the point in even trying to invest in friendships--she was just going to have to move eventually.


But in this park,
in the flowers,
in the glow of the sunlit trees--
she felt the ever present friendship of The Lord just reigning down on her.
she was full of joy.
all the pain was just washing away
it was like a burden was being lifted off of her.
and for that--she was grateful.

this was going to be the beginning of  a beautiful friendship...

There is a friend that is always there for you. His name is Jesus. In your brokenness, right were you are--I invite you to get to know Him. He is waiting to know you. He already knows you better than you know yourself--but he wants to invite you to give yourself to him.

Prayer
Dear Lord,
Allow us to go into deep intimacy with you. Let us know that you are our best friend and let us rest in your loyalty. Let us rest in your goodness and let us have fun in this friendship with The King of The Universe. What a privilege and an honor it is to have you as a friend and let us never take it for granted. In Jesus's name, Amen.
